Advent Takes on New Customers, Staff and Directions in 2001
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ --- While more prominent technology companies repeated the cycle of constriction that dominated the economic news in 2001, Advent, Inc., a software development company located in New Providence, NJ, quietly generated a 40% growth in revenues, while doubling its office space and increasing its staff.
Advent specializes in mission-critical applications for the shipping industry. It has carved out a niche in this industry by focusing on its customers’ priorities, gaining a deep understanding of even the most mundane business practices, and applying simple logic to large, complex systems.

Advent has expanded its services to include technical placement services. Its staffing department has assembled and trained a core group of consultants for project management, system architecture, software development and a wide variety of both technical and non-technical positions. In 2002, Advent plans to extend the scope of its existing work and to explore new industries and opportunities. Among Advent’s new customers are Exxon and M&M Mars. Advent is also developing several proprietary products, most notably DepotView and HazDocs, internet-based ASP services for transportation companies.
This year Advent will look to the east and the west as the company plans to increase is current client base in Europe and the West Coast of the United States. By year-end Advent hopes to establish a presence in both locations.
