MURRAY HILL, NJ - Advent is pleased to announce that Matson Navigation Company has awarded it the contract to develop an Automobile Terminal Management System for its Hawaii and West Coast terminals.
The system will include hand-held, wireless mobile data terminals (MDTs) to enable scanning of bar-coded VINs and port tags. When implemented, it will provide Matson with complete automobile supply chain visibility.
By integrating real-time data feeds from the terminal floor with internal customer and booking information, the system will provide complete lifespan data for every vehicle that passes through Matson’s services.
Advent was selected for the project over a handful of competitors. Matson initially opted for one of Advent’s home-grown solutions, AutoTrack, but decided to develop custom solution instead.
The new system will allow Matson to dramatically improve its customer service by enabling yard clerks and terminal managers to keep their inventory data both accurate and current.
Later versions of the system will also include vessel and yard planning modules, which will allow Matson to further streamline its already efficient operation.
